Here are the best coffee shops and the best cafes which we recommend you go to in the city of Khon Kaen, Thailand. In the bustling city of Khon Kaen, where tradition meets modernity, we explore the aromatic world of coffee, uncovering the hidden gems that make it a haven for coffee enthusiasts.

This post is not about competition, there is no number 1 or last. We think that the coffee shops we list here are the best in the city. We listed these coffee shops here because of:

• They make great espresso (the best way to taste the coffee)
• The latte or orange coffee is tasty (our favorite)
• These shops have great design or are in old houses/buildings/…
• The staff is very friendly and knows how to make a coffee 🙂
• The nature around the cafe is luxuriant, green or a must go

Ace of Cup Café

Ace of Cup: (ex Napha Cafe)Jane and Fai will welcome you well and do one of the best espresso in town. The Latte is near the top too. We have some friends who do like orange/coffee and tell us that it is very delicious and well balanced.

One of our favorite places to drink an espresso. The price and the taste are perfect, the owner is super nice and speaks very good English. They have some cake and homemade pastries but since they just open early in December… more will be added soon on the menu.

Square House Coffee

Another place where the espresso is very tasty. Black beans from Chiang Mai are well ground with perfect dosage. The shop is very well crafted, wood was used in the building and the shop has a lot of wooden furniture as well. It’s a very cosy place, you can also shop in their little local shop while you are drinking your coffee…

DonBom Café

Slow bar coffee and homemade bakery.
Khun Teesarak knows how to make good coffee with his Rok espresso maker. Located outside the city but it is worth the visit. This shop is growing its lemon, so lemon lovers you have to go there.

PHAW Coffee and Bake

Probably the cutest cup of coffee in Khon Kaen, Phaw coffee has a delicious, light espresso. Coffee with good balance, an aromatic nose as well as an attack on the palate in harmony with the middle and the finish. Chocolate and tea served there has nothing to envy to bigger cafe shops. Cookies are baked on the place and homemade.

“The charm of an old house is filled with the aroma of coffee. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee.”

Located in the city center, this coffee shop is easy to reach by foot from the main hotels. The owner is very friendly and speaks very well English. This cosy wooden house ( 65 Years old) was from his Grandfather ( from China) and the owner transformed it into a coffee shop to be able to maintain the house.
Sandwiches, pastries, tea, macha…and of course, the coffee is very delicious here.

Noob Coffee Truck Khon kaen.

Not too many people know about this food truck owned by the famous “BoBo” a vespa specialist but also a coffee lover.
This truck can be found everyday in the parking lot of the Mother and Child Health Center Khon Kaen. If you have to quit the town on the Si Chan road ( direction Kalasin), have a stop here. Easy parking, small table and chair to take your booster before hitting the road.

Classical menu but very good coffee, since January small food menu is proposed ( Sugar toast). Nap’s Coffee x Roaster Intown

Stepping into Nap’s Coffee x Roaster Intown is like entering a cozy retreat. The Nap’s cafe open early at 7am suitable for those who wake up early and is located on the Na Mueang Rd, not far from the Yamaha motorbike shop. There is not too much food there but the espresso and the Latte are very good.

Peach Home Cafe

Peach Home Cafe in Khon Kaen is a small cafe with a homey atmosphere, perfect for relaxing like you’re in your own living room. Not easy to find but with the help of the map… it’s easy 🙂
They serve very good coffee and their chocolate cakes seem to be unanimously appreciated by customers. The café is nicely decorated with white walls and white furniture, it’s very fresh, very very pleasant, you feel really good there.

This cafe is located not far from Khon Kaen University. Small and nestled in a parking lot. This shop offers a pretty gravel terrace with nice “director” type armchairs. This cafe seems a little more fun than the others, the atmosphere is very friendly… more of a bar atmosphere, but without alcohol. Super trendy cafe nearby for university students.

Chai Chuei coffee (กาแฟชายเฉื่อย)

Probably one of your favorite, I have to say that the espresso is one of the best in town. The location is on Bang kok road, not in the center but anyway… a good spot for us because we are not far away. I know that the Latte is also excellent because of some of my Neighbor drink it and told me how is tasted good. Sorry… the only downside of this coffee shop is that.. it open a little bit too late :)..in the morning.
